Top 10 inappropriate cars for very old people

Last weekend I was sitting at the traffic lights, in my Honda Civic Hybrid minding my own business when I noticed out of the corner of my eye a gigantic Hummer H2 heave into view and pull up alongside me. Nothing too much out of the ordinary there I suppose, apart from the fact that you perhaps don’t see too many of them on the UK roads, except that driving this particular vehicle was what can only be described as a “little old man”. As the Hummer roared away from the lights and I glided in its wake it got me thinking just what are the most inappropriate vehicles for very old people to drive? From our octogenarian Hummer H2 driver to the little old man queuing up in the rain for Ford Mustang parts , we’re not saying it’s wrong we are saying that, perhaps these vehicles might be a tad inappropriate.

Contributions are of course very welcome as this is by no means a comprehensive or exhaustive list.

So with that in mind we have compiled the top 10 inappropriate cars for vey old people to be seen behind the wheel of…

POSVehicleOld ManWhy?
1Hummer H2A true monstrosity of a vehicle, a behemoth and far too big for our narrow UK roads
2VW Golf R32People in their 30's can't handle this car and return them within a few months...what chance for our very old man?
3Lincoln NavigatorOur very old man hasn't heard of rap music and doesn't like premiership footballers
4Honda S2000Ahh the open road, the engine roar, the wind in our very old man's.... hair...oh dear
5Citroen Saxo VTRThis is a young persons car, our very old man probably shouldn't even be a passenger in this!
6BigFoot pick-upIt would require a stairlift attached to the side to enable our very old main to gain access to the cab.
7Mustang GTjust too much power and far to thirsty for someone on a pension!
8Bond BugThis would be as unstable on the road as our very old man is on his feet...a big no no.
9Ford Capri 3.0 SAll that power makes this version an unstable beast, surely not a safe option.
10Toyota LandCruiserIt's just too big for our very old man and he may find the 4wd controls confusing.

OK so if those are inappropriate cars what should our very old man be driving?

POSVehicleOld ManWhy?
1Skoda RoomsterIt is in the ugly top 10 too...enough said.
2Golf PlusAll that practical storage, lots of room for travel sweets and driving gloves.
3Citroen BerlingoBlanket, check, flask, check, Berlingo, check.
4Mini ClubmanWho could not be seduced by those practical rear doors.
5Mazda 626 EstateTakes the word boring to a new dimension, a safe practical choice.
6Toyota AvensisDriving around very slowly in one of these, it's what they were built for.
7Any RoverHow did they ever go bust with such a loyal band of followers?
8Vauxhaul MerivaNow we know why Vauxhaul made it.
9Peugeot 406A car built with our very old man in mind from the start.
10Austin MetroReally no words are necessary.

I think you’re wrong about sports cars for old men. Sports cars have deep bucket seats, which are ideal for resting a large (full) pair of incontinent pants. Sloosh!

All the cars above are inappropriate for younger male drivers. Reason they have an engine and most younger male drivers do not have fully developed brain before they are about 24 years old.
