GM relegated from the Dow Jones Industrial Average

In a final ignominy and to underline just how bad things have got General Motors have been replaced in the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
The relegation from the 30 members of the blue-chip index adds insult to injury following the fall from grace of the once-powerful corporation.
GM filed for bankruptcy on 1 June.
The change was effective from the start of trading on Monday.
