Are some car makers set to waive the VAT hike?

It is rumoured that some car makers are set to waive the vat hike if cars ordered this year are not delivered on time. Of course this will be down to the individual manufacturers and the franchised dealers, but there could be a heck of a lot of goodwill created by this gesture.

If a new car has been ordered for late year delivery it is certainly worth asking the dealer who is supplying it where you stand if you think the car maybe late and you have to stump up hundreds of extra pounds in VAT through no real fault of your own.
