Take a SEAT

Despite the fact that there are rumours of the demise of SEAT they have still managed to retain their 1.6% market share, up year on year by over 3,000 units and it is also closer to filling all its open points.

It maybe that the recession is just the place for VW’s sporty little brother to thrive with many parents looking to have the children in safe reliable cars whilst the kids can identify with the cool image which owning a seat now portrays.

It is still not totally clear how profitable SEAT dealers are and some of our guys who are close to the action say that squeezing a margin is still an uphill battle everyday but that by working closely with the brand many are surviving at present.

It will be interesting to see whether the whispers of VAG selling SEAT come to fruition any time soon.
