Daimler’s Mercedes brand have increased sales by 13.6% to 100,500 units in October, marking the 12th straight month of double-digit growth in volumes, the company said on Friday.
While China, like for so many other manufacturers, remained the single fastest-growing market for the brand, Daimler said sales gained disproportionately faster in its much larger domestic market of Germany than in the rest of the world.
“Our success in Germany played a major role in this development. We attained a market share of 11.1% here, representing the highest level since October 2008,” Mercedes sales chief Joachim Schmidt said in a statement.
Just over a quarter of all Mercedes sales last month stemmed from Germany, compared with 18% for the US and around 13% for China.
