Toyota iQ city cars recalled over potential steering fault

More recalls have been announced by Toyota as an estimated 12,500 iQ city cars in the UK need to have a potential problem with the steering rectified.

The action is part of a worldwide recall of 135,000 cars by Toyota and was made when it was discovered that power steering sensors could malfunction when driving over bumps, making steering heavier than usual.

There have only been 37 reported incidences of this happening, all of which occurred in Japan, and none have led to any accidents.

Toyota iQ owners will be contacted by Toyota regarding the recall, or can call their local dealership for further information.
