Mercedes: The Best in Power and Exhilaration

When it comes to Mercedes UK consumers are often desperate to find the fast, most exhilarating cars that they produce – something that is not very difficult when you look at the amazing line-up of Mercedes cars sold in the UK today. Should you need a little prompting though, this article is going to run through the 5 top Mercedes UK consumers can buy today, should they be looking for speed and performance above anything else…

Mercedes SL Roadster

The SL Roadster epitomises everything that Mercedes stands for: great design, stylish looks and, most importantly in the context of this article, a drive that will completely knock your socks off! The SL Roadster has an engine that can produce a massive 525hp from 6.3l of V8 power and will reach 0-60 in less than 6 seconds, with a limited top speed of 155mph. At a price of £106,820 though, you would hope that this car does more than just drive fast – which it certainly does!

Mercedes SLS AMG Coupe

Also boasting a 6.3l V8 engine, the good news for speed freaks is that this car is not limited to its top speed – it can hit a hefty 197mph and manages to get t 60mph from a standing start in an unbelievable 3.8 seconds. With 6,208cc of power, it’s easy to see why so many adrenaline junkies have their eyes on this model as the next car they are going to buy. They’ll need a cool £168,395 if they want to own it though…

Mercedes SLK 55 AMG

For this one, we thought we’d lower the price slightly, as the SLK 55 AMG comes in at just £54,950. For this price you’d expect the performance to be significantly lower than the two cars already mentioned, but surprisingly it is not. It can handle 0-60mph in 4.6 seconds and is limited to a top speed of 155mph. It even comes with a V8 engine. So why is it so much cheaper? The fact is, the design is not as cutting edge as the previous two and is aimed more at everyday consumers. We think that this is the best value performance Mercedes UK customers can buy.

Mercedes C 63 AMG Coupe

Continuing with the theme of more affordable Mercedes cars for UK customers, the C 63 AMG Coupe can be bought for £57,745 from dealers throughout the country, and even less if buying second hand. It’s the favoured car of executives across the UK, but it also has some serious kit under the bonnet as well. Its 6208cc V8 engine matches up to any of the more expensive models in the Mercedes range and the 457hp that it kicks out will provide thrills aplenty. It can even hit 60mph in 4.5 seconds, although how many chances you’ll get to try this out are open to question! In addition to the performance, the design is also jaw-dropping as well; particularly the aggressive curves and the gorgeous front grill.

Mercedes SLR

For our final car, we’ve gone straight to the top of the tree in terms of Mercedes UK customers can buy. The SLR is Mercedes’ flagship vehicle – a car so desirable and powerful that they don’t even advertise its price on the website. It is the culmination of years of work combining the best in Mercedes technology and, although no longer produced, can still be bought – if you have the money, that is! All you need to know about the technical specs is that they add up to make the world’s fastest convertible road car – this one fact should be enough to get the hairs on the back of any adrenaline junkie’s neck standing on end straight away!
