Mr Stamp and the Spring DVLA Registration Auction

DVLA Personalised Registrations’ Spring Auction will serve up a delight for philatelists with the inclusion of the rather apt registration, MR57 AMP.

It is among the 1,500 which will go under the hammer at the De Vere Village Hotel in Tingley, Leeds, over three days commencing on Wednesday, March 21.

Other registrations which have proven popular in the run up to the event include KE11 THS, JO11 LLY and H15 HGV, undoubtedly a favourite with lorry drivers!

Costing £1.4 million, the Aston Martin One-77 is currently one of the most expensive supercars ever built and the Agency has come up with the perfect plate for it as ONE 77S, tagged with a more modest £400 reserve, is included in the sale.

Names, particularly surnames, are proving as popular with motorists as ever, a factor DVLA Personalised Registrations is hoping to succeed with as FA11 OWS and BU11 ARD, which have £1,500 reserves, will be auctioned during the Leeds sale.

Jody Davies, DVLA Personalised Registrations’ Events Manager, said: “While there has been a lot of pre sale banter via Twitter surrounding MR57 AMP and JO11 LLY, the reality is we have again managed to put together a super collection of registrations and we are confident this sale will be another success for the Agency.”

In total, DVLA’s forthcoming auction will comprise 1,500 registrations chosen to offer an eclectic mix to suit all tastes, styles and budgets including; ALF 8C (reserve – £450), ALF 4W (£450), A1 ORD (£700), BU11 ARD (£1,500), DRA 600N (£400), ELV 15F (£450), E16 HTY (£350), FA11 OWS (£1,500), F599 EVO (£400), GRE 660R (£400), H15 HGV (£400), KE11 THS (£1,500), LI54 000 (£400), MCN 115H (£350), MR57 AMP (£400), 16 O (£5,000), ONE 77S (£400), 5000 OO (£2,900), TUR 80B (£400), W15 KER (£400), YES 810G (£350), YOU 510W (£350).
