Nissan Takes Note With Viral Stunt!

Taking extreme sports to the next level, Nissan launched their renowned Note mini-MPV down a hill to celebrate both the model’s first European birthday and its successful Safety Shield Suite.

Building a giant 6 metre inflatable “carzorb” that weighed over a tonne itself, the Note was encased inside ready for a journey like never before! Positioned by a military helicopter, the stunt was aimed at displaying both the versatility and durability that makes the Note one of the safest cars in its segment.

Testing Nissan’s Safety Shield to the limit, the suite aims to deliver a “vehicle that helps protect people”, demonstrated to full effect when left to hurtle down a grassy hill! It came as no surprise to Nissan that the car emerges intact at the end. Advanced, the protective suite looks to combine various technical measures that consider risks at various stages of the driving experience. Sound complex? Well it is and happens to be one of the most comprehensive approaches to safeguarding driver/passengers in the compact city car segment currently on the market. In fact for Nissan it’s the first time it has been featured in the small car segment. By separating potential risks into various stages, starting with “Risk not yet appeared” and concluding with “Post Crash” each of the tech features have been considered in synergy and subsequently optimised. Using information captured from the rear wide-view camera, the blind spot warning, lane departure warning and moving object detection all form the safety hub which keeps the Shield informed of what’s going on in its surroundings. From the Around View Monitor to the HELPNET emergency call service, all angles are covered if the unfortunate collision was to occur. Although the majority of features are available with rival marques, with the Note they are unique through considering safety technology in direct relation to the risk they are avoiding. Nissan have adopted the reassuring paternal role to great effect.

Currently available, the new Note is pitched as “unlike any other city car”, designed to heighten your senses. Comfortably accommodating 5 passengers without compromise, the level of flexibility is unparalleled in the category, primarily achieved through a boot space that expands to 1.7 metres in length, achieved through a 60/40 split rear folding seats and a resulting flat luggage floor.
